About Us
We are a foster-based, all-volunteer nonprofit 501(c)3 rescue that takes in, fosters and finds forever homes for medium and large dogs as well as cats. We work primarily (but not exclusively) with hunting dogs such as Pointers and bully breeds such as Staffordshire Terriers.
Our story starts 12 years ago, when the founder moved to Florida. Building on experience with rescue in California, she began volunteering at the local county shelter, a path that would lead to connections and a network of amazing rescuer friends and colleagues, and ultimately the formation of a rescue in order to help even more animals.
Our Mission
Animal Rescue Krewe’s mission is to protect and care for companion animals, as well as reduce overpopulation and cruelty through fundraising, rescue, and education.
“There comes a point where we need to stop just pulling people out of the river.
We need to go upstream and find out why they’re falling in.”
― Desmond Tutu
