We have a huge problem with pet overpopulation here in Hillsborough County, including Tampa and the surrounding areas. Unwanted pets are unfortunately destroyed literally every day because there aren’t enough community members willing to adopt them (to understand more, please visit Pet Resource Center’s reports page).
But YOU can help:
- ADOPT: When it’s time for a new pet…please ADOPT! View our current adoptable pets.
- SPAY AND NEUTER: With your existing pets…please SPAY AND NEUTER! Hillsborough County’s spay and neuter voucher program may help. If not, Harmony’s services are very reasonably priced and they have several locations.
- FOSTER: Have a little extra space in your home and heart? FOSTERING SAVES LIVES. Every foster we have means an animal pulled from the euthanasia list. Apply to foster today.

About Us
We are a foster-based, all-volunteer nonprofit 501(c)3 rescue that takes in, fosters and finds forever homes for medium and large dogs as well as cats. We work primarily (but not exclusively) with hunting dogs such as Pointers and bully breeds such as Staffordshire Terriers.
Our Mission
Animal Rescue Krewe (ARK) of Tampa’s mission is to protect and care for companion animals, as well as reduce overpopulation and cruelty through fundraising, rescue, and education.
“There comes a point where we need to stop just pulling people out of the river. We need to go upstream and find out why they’re falling in.”
― Desmond Tutu
